You’re not the only one: Facebook Pages is broken across the world

Pity the poor brands struggling to deliver you piping hot content all day — this one included.

A number of news outlets and other companies running official pages on Facebook have been unable to post or schedule posts for most of the day on Wednesday Australian time, although posting to personal pages appears to be unaffected.

The error message reads: “There was a problem updating your status. Please try again in a few minutes.” For Mashable, the bug has affected pages in the U.S., Europe and Singapore, as well as in Australia.

The evil error message.

Desperate to continue pushing out memes, some outlets used Facebook on mobile as a workaround to post the precious links.

The social media team at the Guardian Australia told Mashable Australia they have been having similar problems. While an Australian public relations agency Sling & Stone said they, as well as clients, were having problems with their business Facebook page.

“We follow a tonne of international media brands across a range of social media channels. We’ve certainly noticed a drop off in reading material on Facebook today and we’re aware of a few brands that have been hit by the outage,” a spokesperson from Sling & Stone told Mashable Australia via email.

“Hopefully it’s a short term glitch, but it does reiterate how important it is for brands to have multiple communication channels with their audiences.”

Facebook has been contacted for comment — and also a lifeline. We’ll update as soon as we know more.

In the meantime, enjoy your nice, vaguely more chill Newsfeed.
