Retailers lose more than $600 billion each year to sales returns, recent research finds. For in-store purchases, the greatest losses come from people buying the wrong item or issues with poor quality. Reasons for returning ecommerce orders are somewhat different: Items in the wrong size are the biggest culprit, followed by simple buyer’s remorse.
