Prince’s music removed from all streaming services except Tidal

Prince, who memorably proclaimed "the Internet’s completely over" in 2010, is now absent from all streaming services except Jay Z’s music platform Tidal.

"Prince’s publisher has asked all streaming services to remove his catalog," a Spotify spokesperson told Mashable on Wednesday. "We have cooperated with the request, and hope to bring his music back as soon as possible."

Mashable has reached out to Prince’s publicist and Tidal for more details about the removals, which coincidentally happened on the same day Prince released a suggestive new song — "HARDROCKLOVER" — on Soundcloud.
